Meet Our Leadership
Timothy S. Crane
Tim Crane is President and Chief Executive Officer of Wintrust Financial Corporation, a Midwest-based regional financial company providing banking, specialty finance and wealth management services. Tim joined Wintrust in 2008 and was named to his current role in 2023, when he also joined the Company’s Board of Directors.
Tim began his career at Harris Bank (now BMO) in Chicago, where he spent 24 years in a variety of roles supporting consumer, commercial and business banking, as well as acquisition strategy. He last served as President of Harris Bancorp, Inc., before joining Wintrust.
An active member of our communities, Tim serves on the boards of Shedd Aquarium, DePaul University, the Millenium Park Foundation, and ProSight and is a member of The Bankers Club of Chicago, The Economic Club of Chicago, and Civic Committee – Commercial Club of Chicago.
He earned his undergraduate degree in finance/pre-med from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and his MBA in finance from University of Chicago. Additionally, he has completed executive leadership programs at the Ivey School in Toronto, Canada, and Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management.
